Overview of the large self catering property
La Maison d’Amiel is a large gite close to Carcassonne, it has been lovingly restored by its current owners, and they have kept and enhanced all the houses original features whilst adding modern and luxurious fittings. Original tiled floors and cornices have been kept and beautifully restored, and there are two swimming pools at the self catering property. The grounds are 3/4 of an acre in size.
The rental property has a magnificent stone spiral staircase, with detailed wrought iron banisters. Many of the living rooms and bedrooms have large marble fireplaces and in the dinning room there is a wood burning stove. It is possible to use the fires in winter.
New 2013, we are adding flat screen TV's with DVD/Sky to bedrooms 1, 2 and 3.
There are 9 luxury bedrooms in the property and 8 bathrooms, 8 WC’s (please see the bedroom page for more details or download our house plan).
La Maison d'Amiel is an ideal place to spend your Easter holidays, Spring holidays, Summer holidays and Autumn holidays.
Living space in the vacation rental
There is ADSL/WIFI connection throughout the property. There is also Sky television in the dining room and lounge with all the free channels such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4/5, kids channels and so fourth.
Self catering
There are two kitchens in the self catering house, ideal for large groups who might not choose to cook together every night, and an outside covered kitchen area, with a fridge/freezer, gas and coal bar-be-que and a table which seats up to 20.

Villegailhenc, just five minutes from Carcassonne
The property is situated in the village of Villegailhenc, 5 mins from Carcassonne, it has fantastic local facilities, so there is no pressure to get in your car on a daily basis, there is a bakers with daily baked croissants, baguettes, wholemeal breads, cakes and so fourth, a reasonably priced supermarket, butchers, tabac, fish shop, wine cave, dentist, hairdressers,doctors and a weekly fruit/vegetable market on a Wednesday morning. There is also a restaurant/bar in the village which offers a la carte and a good variety of homemade pizzas.
